The 858 Distinguished Talent Visa
The Distinguished Talent Visa is a permanent visa for foreign nationals “with distinguished talent.” This specific talent can be in a profession, a sport, the arts, or academia and research, and must be an “internationally recognised record of exceptional and outstanding achievement.”
Applicants for the Distinguished Talent Visa 858 (applied for in Australia and overseas) will also need to show they are still prominent in the area and that they will benefit Australia as a nation, not just a particular local community within the country. Applicants need to be nominated by an individual or organization recognised in the applicant’s field.
Those granted the Distinguished Talent Visa are allowed to study, work and live permanently in Australia and to “sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence.”
Distinguished Talent Client Review
Read these review comments from one of our clients, American cinematographer Greg Huglin:
We applied for a ‘Distinguished Talent’ visa which, because I am over 55 years of age, took a lot of documentation and paperwork.
Just a few days ago we were notified by the Australian government that our application for Permanent residency has been approved.
I am very grateful for Alberta’s professionalism and encouragement during our two visa applications over the past two years.
We could not have done this without her help and I enthusiastically recommend her service as a Migration Agent.
